On September 8th, BAM Tri-State, in partnership with Girlz Love Tech (GLT) and Blacks in Law Enforcement Serving the Community (BLESC), hosted the first-ever Back-to-School Hygiene Care Drive in Jersey City, NJ. This collaborative effort was a resounding success, with over 100 care packages distributed to students from eight local high schools. Together, BAM Tri-State, GLT, and BLESC made a significant impact, addressing critical needs for hygiene resources while fostering educational growth.
The event reached more than 60 students through various educational sessions covering essential topics like Mental Health Awareness, HBCU Education Connect, Bra Sizing & Fitting, and insights from BLESC and GLT initiatives. GLT played a pivotal role in highlighting STEM career pathways and empowering young women in technology, while BAM Tri-State and BLESC focused on broader community and law enforcement engagement. Additionally, the voting education table emphasized civic engagement, guiding students through the voting process.
One student was awarded a Scholarship Plug membership, providing invaluable support in navigating the scholarship process and paving the way for a debt-free education.
This event truly showcased the power of partnership and community service, with BAM Tri-State, GLT, and BLESC making a lasting impact—one care package at a time.
