Improved School Attendance:
Our Reach & Impact
JCPS has a total student enrollment of approximately 26,300 students.
-
Roughly 48% are female: ~12,620 girls
-
About 39% of all students are economically disadvantaged.
-
This yields approximately 4,925 underserved girls districtwide.
Our Focused Age Range: We’re targeting girls starting puberty and beyond — primarily grades 5 through 12

Grade Band | Est % of Students | Total Girls | Underserved Girls (est 39%) |
---|---|---|---|
Grades PreK–4 | ~35% | ~4,400 | ~1,700 |
Grades 5–8 | ~30% | ~3,800 | ~1,480 |
Grades 9–12 | ~30% | ~3,800 | ~1,480 |
Alt. Programs | ~5% | ~620 | ~240
|
Our Goal:
Serve 3,000 underserved girls in grades 5–12 across JCPS —providing hygiene access, education, and support during the most critical years of development.
Why This Matters:
This focused targeting ensures support reaches those most affected by hygiene insecurity, aligning program delivery with real, data-informed student needs.

The Hygiene Initiative from Girlz Love Tech has made a real difference at PS 24. Our students feel more confident, and we've seen a positive impact on attendance and engagement in class. It’s wonderful to see them empowered through something as essential as access to hygiene.
